No birth time? You'll get a range.
Tick "I don't know the time" and, if you like, choose a part of the day. We try every hour in that window and show you a range, along with the score that's most likely.
Without a birth time, we treat every hour in the window as equally likely.
Rising sign not used: it needs both birth times.

Privacy
Nothing you enter is stored. We use your birth details only to work out the result.
Only enter someone else's birth details if they've said that's OK.
AstroMatch is for people aged 18 or older.
How we work it out
Every rule is listed, so you can judge for yourself.
Western astrology has no single standard for compatibility. Astrologers differ on which planets count, how close an "aspect" must be, and what each contact means. So we list every rule, number and source we use, and we version them. Change a rule and the score changes. AstroMatch is for fun and conversation. No study has shown that astrology predicts how a relationship will go.
Positions use the tropical zodiac (Western astrology) and are computed by DateNWed's own engine from published astronomical methods (Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms; JPL/Standish elements).
What we do not use
- Houses: they need an exact birth time, and astrologers use different systems.
- Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto: people born within a few years of each other share them.
- Lunar nodes, minor aspects and combined charts: left out of this first version.
- Health, fertility, money or family: we never comment on these.
Questions
Good questions to ask first.
What is AstroMatch?
AstroMatch compares two people's birth dates, and birth times if you know them, using Western (tropical zodiac) astrology. It looks at the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and the rising sign, then describes five themes in plain English: Chemistry, Communication, Emotional connection, Lifestyle & values and Long-term potential.
It is for fun and conversation, a way to start talking about what matters to each of you.
Is it scientific?
No. Astrology is not a science, and no score predicts how a relationship will go. No study has shown that astrology predicts how a relationship will go.
The 50,000 pairs are made up from random birthdays and cities, not real couples. The number shows where the two of you fall among them. It is not a percentage of how well you match.
Treat the result as a conversation starter, not an answer. You can open the reasons behind every theme, and read every rule we use.
What is stored?
Nothing about your birth details. We use them only to work out the result. They aren't saved in a database or on your account, they never go in a web address, and they aren't kept in your browser's storage.
The result lives on the page. If you reload it, it's gone, and you'll be asked to enter the details again.
Why a birth time?
The Moon changes sign every couple of days, and the rising sign changes about every two hours. So on the day someone was born, the exact time can change the picture.
Without a time, we try every hour in the window and show a range, plus the score that's most likely. The rising sign is only used when you know both birth times.
Curious how the two of you line up?
It takes about a minute, and nothing you enter is stored.
